Clear Choice offers flu-fighting services

West Seneca Bee - 2/1/2018

With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reporting widespread influenza cases in 49 states, preventive measures can help keep families healthy.

According to Ed Bedient, owner of Clear Choice Cleaning Services in West Seneca, there are several steps you can take, from getting a flu shot to deep-cleaning your home.

"We specialize in deep-cleaning homes and offices using a state-of-the-art, hot-water extraction cleaning system," Bedient said. "If the flu has already made its way through your house, we can perform a very thorough cleaning of carpets, furniture and upholstery to eliminate germs and make everything feel fresh and clean again."

The flu thrives in cold, dry weather like we've been experiencing this winter and can be transmitted to another person from as far as six feet, according to the National Institutes of Health. With that in mind, here are some steps to prevent the flu and stay healthy:

Even though we're well into flu season, get a flu shot. Everyone over the age of 6 months should receive one.

Wash your hands frequently, and avoid close contact with others, such as shaking hands.

Disinfect frequently touched items such as door handles, remote controls and shared phones.

If you're sick, stay home to prevent exposing others.

See your doctor as soon as symptoms develop.
